Tommy Armstrong

I'm a senior from Union County, New Jersey, studying Sports Communications at Marist College, with a minor in Business. My experience at Marist has given me the opportunity to broadcast games on ESPN+, our own Red Fox Network, and our student radio. I am a Co-Host of the Red Fox Report, our sports highlight show that recaps Marist sports and appears on ESPN3 during Marist broadcasts.

I am the lead play by play broadcaster for Marist Volley, along with commentating for both Men's and Women's Soccer on ESPN+. I am an experienced Sideline Reporter as well, having done Men's Basketball and Football games for Marist that stream on ESPN+. When off the ESPN air, I am a head broadcaster for student radio, calling both football and basketball games.

​Being able to engage in a variety of areas in the sports world has been a blessing, learning under professionals such as John Brickley, Chris Riviezzo, and Leander Schaerlaeckens.

 

When not on and around the broadcast, I write and research for Centerfield, Marist's sports newspaper. With this experience, it helped me intern at EnforceTheSport, a start-up sports blog, creating game recaps, predictions, and news articles around the sports world.

As an avid sports fan, I fell in love with the industry and everything it has to offer. I spend many of my days researching stats, watching games, writing articles, and finding the next analytical piece of information to share with my colleagues. I participate in enjoying all varieties of sports, but my favorites are basketball and football, closely analyzing the professional and college levels.
